How to properly store equipment

The world of storage shelves is very extensive. This ranges from high-end wood and aluminium shelves to simple paternosters and lifting systems, and in between those, heavy-duty racks for storing loaded pallets. What type of storage technology is needed depends on what type of operations will be conducted. What is needed - Outdoor or indoor storage? Light or heavy-load shelving units? Automatic or manual loading systems? The world of industrial storage is so gigantic, that an intensive planning and consultation session is necessary in order to select the correct storage technology.

Goods are very rarely just placed loosely onto shelves. There are a lot of professional stowage options available for products that are temporarily not in use. This ranges from simple Euro-pallets to airtight packaging, which are all widely available both new and on the used market. A fitting container can be found for every product.

Transporting and moving

Warehouse and packaging systems are just the beginning. The actual containers must be moved around the warehouse and placed in the right area. For this, it is possible to buy the most fitting transport vehicles second hand. These industrial trucks are available in a range from small but flexible hand pallet trucks to powerful, heavy-duty forklifts. It is also useful to install an overhead crane in a warehouse, so that every point within the warehouse can be reached and the entire area is optimally used.

Safety and cleanliness

The facilities that ensure safety and cleanliness are also important components of warehouse equipment. This starts with the installation of correct lighting, including emergency lights that will highlight the exit routes in the case of a fire. These are widely available second hand. Additionally, fire extinguishers are an important component of a warehouse. Finally, a variety of cleaning machines and products are necessary to keep the warehouse safely accessible. These range from a simple broom to self-propelled wet cleaning equipment.

Registering, cataloguing and finding products

A warehouse is only as good as its inventory system. In order to ensure the ease of finding products when they are needed, a good cataloguing system must be put in place. This ranges from simple signs and labels, up to high-tech solutions such as the RFID controller.
